We are proud to introduce the Airlift Separator AL-200, a system for reducing plastic and other lightweight materials from compost. It is the only plastic removal system on the market today that will continue to remove plastic from compost without slowing down production.

The Plastic Removal Problem

The number one contamination problem each compost facility faces is plastic in the compost feedstock. Film plastic either contaminates the “fines” or it contaminates the ”overs,” sometimes it does both, making compost unsuitable for reprocessing or for sale. The Airlift Separator can be installed to address either of these problems.

Combine the market’s negative reaction to plastic showing up in compost with the mechanical failures caused by plastic clogging up your screen and it soon becomes obvious that removal of plastic debris is of the highest importance to serious commercial composters.

The Plastic Removal Solution

Other industrial systems have been engineered to remove film plastics but most of these systems are large and too expensive for the average commercial composter.

After ten years experience with compost processing, plastics removal, and in-house product engineering, a practical and economical system was developed. This plastic debris removal solution is called the Airlift Separator AL-200 and it is designed with the following three objectives in mind:

• Affordability–The Airlift Separator AL-200 can scale to almost any size operation at only a fraction of the investment of other plastic removal equipment on the market today. It even works with the existing hydraulic power supply on your screening equipment
• Portability–The Airlift Separator AL-200 is the smallest plastic removal system on the market today. Sitting on a 4’ x 4’ footprint, it can be moved easily from place to place with a forklift or a loader. The Airlift Separator AL-200 allows you to remove plastic debris at the source without slowing or stopping production.
• Ease of Installation & Maintenance–The Airlift Separator AL-200 can be assembled and operated by a single person in a couple of hours. Fifteen minutes for periodic cleaning and maintenance every couple months is all the unit requires.
